How to navigate work-life balance in Academia

On November 21st we supported Chiara Trovatello, 2024 Optica Ambassador, in the organization of a workshop addressing one of the aspects that is more concerning in nowadays society: people well-being in their workplace.

The workshop represented a safe place where PhD students, Postdocs and researchers of Politecnico Physics Department could share their considerations on the status of Academia with respect to work-life balance. Participants focused on a series of aspects, from the management of stress and time, to the concern about boundaries setting, sharing personal opinions and experiences.

The great participation and engagement from the attendees revealed how considerations about a healthy workplace are rapidly gaining attention in Academic environment.
