On March 21 and 22, 2024, four members of our Chapters, along with other researchers from the Physics Department of Politecnico di Milano, welcomed two 13th-grade classes as part of the PNRR educational guidance program.
The goal of the activities was to acquaint students with the experimental method in Optics and Photonics by guiding them through simple optical experiments. Each class was divided into small groups, allowing every student the opportunity to engage with the experimental kits. Specifically, they built a telescope by exchanging lenses with different focal lengths and explored the Photonic Maze, a miniaturized simulation of an optical table containing a laser source, mirrors, a polarizing beam splitter and polarizers.
The students found the activities engaging and we hope that they will be inspired to pursue further studies in Photonics!
