From October 26 to November 5, 2022, we had the incredible opportunity to be part of the renowned “Festival della Scienza di Genova,” a premier science outreach event in Italy.

Our workshop, titled “Luce e Vetro, una storia millenaria” (“Light and Glass, a Millenary Story”), captivated over 2000 participants, unveiling the mysteries of optics, with a special focus on the fascinating interplay between light and glass.

Attendees were immersed in hands-on experiences, navigating through optical wonders with our “photonic maze” and even crafting their own telescopes. The journey culminated in a deeper understanding of how transparent materials undergo transformations using a cutting-edge femtosecond laser.

Our event found a special place among the initiatives celebrated during the UN International Year of Glass, adding an extra layer of significance to the exploration of these timeless scientific principles.
